Parke-Vermillion Education Training
Both Parke County School Corporations participate in Wabash River Career & Technical Education (WRCTE). WRCTE has several career and technical education programs in which students may enroll as well as HSE/GED Classes. Higher Education
Area Colleges:
DePauw University consistently ranks in the top tier of national liberal arts colleges. Located in Greencastle, they provide a set of exceptional college experiences marked by intellectual rigor and shaped by a dynamic faculty. Indiana State University (ISU) is located in Terre Haute and offers 100+ majors, notably education, business, criminology, finance, insurance and risk management, nursing, athletic training, and construction technology. The university's graduate education, financial services, nursing and clinical psychology programs are nationally recognized.
ISU also houses the area's Small Business Development Center, which provides counseling and planning services for start-up and existing small businesses from around the region.
Ivy Tech prepares workers for jobs in Indiana's highest priority fields - health care, advanced manufacturing, logistics and life sciences - and designs training programs for specific businesses, either on campus or on-site.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute (for several consecutive years has been rated by U.S. News & World Report as the #1 undergraduate engineering college offering the bachelor’s or master’s as its top degree). They support Rose-Hulman Ventures, an innovative incubator and funding vehicle for entrepreneurs.
Saint Mary of the Woods College
Saint Mary of the Woods College (SMWC) is the oldest Catholic liberal arts college in the United States. SMWC offers a rich liberal arts education. The College also takes pride in its long history of traditions and commitment to academic excellence. In fact, both Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report consistently rank SMWC as one of the Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the Midwest.
Libraries
Parke County’s libraries consist of the Montezuma Public Library and Parke County Public Library. The Rockville Public Library provides free public computer access, books, e-books, e-services, genealogy and children's programs.
Purdue Extension - Parke County
A dedicated network of Extension educators, parents, local leaders and volunteer staff, makes Indiana 4-H one of the most valued youth programs in the state. Purdue Extension youth educators develop individual talents, life skills and leadership abilities among Indiana's young people through the traditional venue of 4-H clubs and county fairs, but also through field-tested school enrichment materials and local-led community programs.
